A Lot of Fun and Some Very Squirmy Moments

“I have spent a lot of time in IKEA over the years, so when this book came in the mail my first thought was why did somebody send me a catalog. Yes, it is that cool, it looks and is set up just like a catalog. So, the fun has flashed already and I had not even read any of it yet.
The book follows a less than stellar employee of the store, it is a copy of a very well known store see name above. Amy doesn't like her job, doesn't care for her boss and has little fondness for her fellow employes. She's a college drop out, and struggles to pay the basic bills. She is spending her time avoiding her boss, who she thinks is going to fire her, while waiting for a transfer to another store. She can't avoid him forever and when he calls her and a more senior employee in to work a special shift, she is persuaded to work through the night if he helps her transfer. So the night of terror begins
Basil her boss, is misunderstood and disrespected at least by Amy. He believes in what he does and in his company's polices. He quotes the company handbook and follows all the rules. When his store is under review from corporate and somebody has been vandalizing at night he calls in a few employes to help him get everything right. There is much more to him than what you see behind the desk.
The store has some serious night drama action going on. There is something foul, something terrible wrong with it. When the night falls the doors open and what is behind them is not for the happy shopper.
I loved this book. I had a lot of fun reading it. It had just the right amount of horror, mystery, Intrigue and blundering. My adult kids have already placed their names in line to read it next. I will read this author again.
I had a few issues with a couple small things that may be fixed in the final version, mine was a unfinished advanced reader copy. There were cops called in the story, and for some reason that just drifted into the mist without explaining why they didn't know _____. Then there was the emergency responders, how did they know ?Open holes that would be very easy to fix.
I kept thinking how perfect Nick Frost and Simon Peg for the two male leads in this.
