I've Lost My BDB Mojo
I skimmed.(GASP) I found sections, chapters of the Omega, Mr C, Assail, Trez, Iam, Xcor, (omg these names) so uninteresting to me, I pulled out my death of a book move, skimming. I need to put this series aside and perhaps end it here. I am burned out on the drama, the same story lines and lack of my golden characters.I miss the old guys. Z, V Wraith, Phury... My favorites the ones that hooked me onto this series.
I liked Blay and Qhuinn, but I wasn't as attached to them but wanted to hear their story after all the drama over the 'years'. They are the last two that really seem familiar to me. I was looking forward to a fantastic love story. What I got was tiny bits of them and a lot of the other characters that I didn't feel any connection too. These two have been through Hades and back with each other and I thought their rainbow moment was yanked from me the reader. Most of the story was about more tortuous feelings, the walking wounded, lack of communication, love drama. BAH ! How many times that important thought start to reach the lips only to be slammed back down a throat ?!?!??! -sigh- It is one of my pet peeves, "i wanna say something but I can't because....." Omg just spit it out, please ! I just don't have the patience. Okay, so there was a lot of that and it really lessened the book for me. Then the last 20 %-ish of the book the sun came out, unicorn danced in the grass and mouths started wagging. FINALLY ! I loved the last moments for B & Q, a wonderful finish, if a bit rushed towards the end.
The rest of the book ? Xcor, being Mr. sneaky and lusting after "his" chosen. The vampire dealing his drug trade. The nearly horrible loss. The meh, break up...... it was jumping from one to the other. I just didn't care other than one of the above. I wanted to love it, I tried, I pushed to stay awake and read more sure it would work on the next page.
I've lost my BDB mojo. Will I ever find it again ?
The Short and Dirty- Their shortened and cheated love story read like a novella, cut and stuffed into a jumble of chaos. This should have been one of the best books in the series. The couple was already a knock out winner with the fans.
